Thomas (Tom) Lowell - Humana Good Neighbor Award Recipient

One day, out of the blue, a gentleman came knocking on our door. It was a Saturday and his church has a program called Fourth Saturday Serve where they go out to neighborhoods and bless someone. Well, bless he did! Tom came to fill a real void. We needed someone who could see things that needed to be done and do them. He takes it upon himself to fix or change anything that needs to be repaired. Thanks to him, all things are better ~ buildings are painted, shelves are set up in the storage room and the landscape is redone.

The most amazing thing he spearheaded was during our Christmas Celebration when he and his family donated 51 bicycles to some very thankful and joyful children.

Tom drives many miles to see us, but every Thursday he is here to help with our Food Pantry. He always has a smile and a great helping attitude.

Here is what our volunteers have to say ~

“Tom is truly a man of God”

“He really has a servant’s heart.”

“We thank him for allowing God to use him as He sees fit.”

We believe it would be almost impossible to find a better neighbor anywhere!
